Wedding Cakes

Due to the absent of blogs, you can tell that we are crazy busy.  During these busy times, my staff and I get a chance to observe first hand what happens at events and weddings.  It really does boggle our minds to see how some people act.  It is a shame really.  Here are some interesting observations that my staff have seen.  Can you identitfy with some of these?

1.   Baseball caps and cowboy hats are not okay to wear during the ceremony or reception unless okayed by the Bride and Groom.  This really extends to all hats for men.  I am pretty sure that it is still proper to remove one's hat when in the presence of ladies or indoors. 

2.  The wedding meal is a gift from the bride and the groom to their guests.  They have spent quite a bit of time and money in choosing a menu. They have contracted with their caterer for just enough to feed those guests that responded to the RSVP's.  Please do not ask the caterer for a to-go box for assorted cousins and other people who did not attend the wedding. 

3.   If you have spent thousands of dollars on the dress, venue, decorations, music, ceremony and transporation, but give your guests frozen pizza for the wedding dinner, please don't be upset when they speak ill of it later.

4.  It is probably not a good idea to scrape the frosting off the top tier of the wedding cake that has been boxed up and set aside for the bridal couple to keep, simply because you thought that it might be nice to take home for your dogs (yes, this really did happen!).

We think that weddings are special and romantic, not events to be made fun of or a mockery of.  We really do find an absence of respect and reverence at some weddings and we wonder why?  It is sad, but we are not alone; we have heard this from many couples, families and guests themselves.   Comments?
